The aim is a change appropriate to your anatomy, not an idealized photograph. Surgery cannot guarantee improved confidence or sexual satisfaction. Removing tissue is permanent; preserving comfortable function and sensation belongs at the center of the discussion.

Soreness, swelling and bruising can make sitting and passing urine uncomfortable initially. Obtain written instructions for wound hygiene, suitable clothing, pain relief and the symptoms that require assessment. Plan rest and practical support.

A personal timetable
Work may require up to two weeks away, depending on duties and healing. Sex and strenuous activity are commonly restricted for several weeks; complete healing takes longer than the first wound check. Your surgeon should give individual clearance rather than a fixed promise.

Continuity of care
Allow time in Thailand for examination and postoperative wound review. A day-case procedure does not mean immediate fitness for a long flight. Discuss comfortable travel, clot prevention and a flexible return date. Know who can examine a wound concern after you return home.

Understand the risks.
Ask what applies to you.
Risks include bleeding, infection, wound separation, scarring, asymmetry and altered or reduced sensation. Excessive reduction can cause ongoing discomfort or painful intercourse. Anesthetic complications and blood clots are also possible. Further treatment may be needed, and removed tissue cannot simply be replaced.

Is it abnormal for the inner labia to be visible?
No. Visible inner folds and differences between the two sides are common normal variations. An examination can distinguish normal anatomy from a condition needing treatment.
Does labiaplasty improve sexual sensation?
Improved sensation or sexual satisfaction should not be promised. Surgery can alter sensitivity and may cause painful scarring. Discuss these possibilities before deciding.
