A contouring procedure
Liposuction targets localized fat deposits that affect contour. It is not a treatment for obesity, a general weight-loss method or a reliable treatment for cellulite. A change in silhouette should not be confused with an overall health intervention.
Explain which area concerns you and what change you expect. The surgeon needs to assess fat distribution, skin quality and health before recommending an approach.
Skin affects the result
Removing fat does not necessarily tighten loose skin. If laxity is substantial, skin removal or another approach may be discussed. Ask whether liposuction alone would leave the concern that matters most to you unresolved.
A device marketed as tightening skin does not guarantee that it will provide the change you need. Ask about evidence, limitations and alternatives for your anatomy.
Define the extent
The number of areas and amount of contouring affect the plan, risks and recovery. More extensive treatment is not automatically appropriate. Ask why the surgeon recommends the proposed scope and whether staging is reasonable.
Technique labels should be explained in relation to the desired change. Surgeon experience and judgment remain relevant regardless of the equipment used.
Understand risks and limitations
Possible risks include contour irregularity, asymmetry, altered sensation, fluid collection, infection, skin injury and blood clots. Anesthesia and the extent of surgery introduce additional considerations. Further treatment may be needed.
Results change as swelling settles and can be affected by later weight changes. Perfectly even contours or a particular amount of weight loss cannot be promised.
Plan recovery before travel
Ask about compression, mobility, work, exercise and review appointments. Bruising and swelling may affect everyday comfort. Arrange support and accommodation around the medical plan.
ImagineHealth helps you explore relevant expertise privately and understand the proposal. A suitable plan depends on the actual contour concern and a workable follow-up pathway, not the lowest price per area.
